List five words that best describe you?

What inspired you to teach dance and fitness?
Cardio dance – even just one class per week – can have such a huge impact on a person’s overall happiness. Apart from being an accessible and fun way to stay healthy, dance classes challenge me to learn something new in a supportive, welcoming atmosphere. Conquering one class at a time inspires me to be more patient with myself, more open-minded, and more confident in all aspects of my life.
What would you like your students to know about you?
That I am so grateful for each class! I don’t take for granted the effort and time it takes to show up to class and work hard for 60 minutes, regardless of the day you’ve had. This would be no fun if I were dancing by myself; I owe all my endorphins and all my success to the people who come dance with me.
What are your favorite hobbies and interests?
I love musical theater, but apart from acting and performing, I love taking bike rides and drinking boba tea. The bike paths between Santa Monica and Venice are my favorite places to chill!
At what age did you begin dancing?
I’ve been dancing since early childhood, but I didn’t start teaching until college, when I was part of a competitive hip hop team. Though I was initially daunted, staging my first choreography and ultimately becoming director of the team gave me the self-confidence to respect my own abilities. I fell in love with teaching only after I was able to acknowledge that I had a worthwhile artistic vision to share. Since then, the joy and confidence I see in my students has become an incredible source of personal motivation, and, today, I am so grateful to be a teacher!
